Legends of the Condor Heroes (TPB) nr. 2: Bond Undone, A (Yong, Jin)
The Song Empire has been invaded by its warlike neighbours from the north. Half its territory and its historic capital lie in enemy hands; the peasants toil under the burden of the annual tribute demanded by the victors. Meanwhile, on the Mongolian steppe, a disparate nation of great warriors is about to be united by a warlord whose name will endure for eternity: Genghis Khan. In volume two of Legends of the Condor Heroes, Guo Jing and Lotus Huang travel through China, encountering the Pirates of Lake Tai, the Chief of the Beggar Clan and the villainous Gallant Ouyang. But before he can claim Lotus’ hand in marriage, Guo Jing must cross the seas to Peach Blossom Island to confront her father, the feared Heretic of the East, Apothecary Huang, who has not forgiven him for killing one of his disciples when he was just a boy. Meanwhile, Yang Kang has discovered his true parentage, but is unwilling to give up a life of wealth and privilege he has enjoyed since birth. Could his affections for Mercy Mu, whose hand he won in the Duel for the Maiden, prove strong enough to steer him towards the path of honour and loyalty?
