Suyi Davies Okungbowa
Suyi Davies Okungbowa is a Nigerian author of stories featuring African gods, starships, monsters, detectives and everything in-between. His godpunk novel, David Mogo, Godhunter, is out from Abaddon in July 2019. His internationally published fiction and nonfiction have appeared in Lightspeed, Fireside, Podcastle, The Dark, Mothership Zeta, Omenana, Ozy, Brick Moon Fiction and other periodicals and anthologies. He is an MFA candidate in Creative Writing at the University of Arizona, where he teaches writing, and has worked in editorial at Podcastle and Sonora Review. Malka Older
Malka Older is a writer, aid worker, and academic. Her research interests include intra-governmental relations in crises; the paradox of well-funded disaster responses; measurement and evaluation of disaster responses; and the effects of competition among actors in humanitarian aid. Malka Older’s science-fiction political thriller Infomocracy was named one of the best books of 2016 by Kirkus, Book Riot, and the Washington Post. She is also the author of the sequels, Null States (2017) and State Tectonics (2018), and the full trilogy was nominated for a Hugo Award. Marie (Ed.) O'Regan
Marie O'Regan is an award-nominated writer and editor of horror and dark fantasy fiction, and her short fiction has been published in such places as The Alsiso Project, When Darkness Comes, Terror Tales 2, Terror Tales of London among others - her first collection, Mirror Mere, was published in 2006, and she is also the co-editor of Hellbound Hearts (Pocket Books), The Mammoth Book of Body Horror and Carnivale: Dark Tales From the Fairground (PS Publishing) along with her husband, Paul Kane, and the solo-edited anthologies The Mammoth Book of Ghost Stories by Women and Phantoms. Marie and Paul's non-fiction interview book, Voices in the Dark, was published early in 2011. Marie's new collection, In Times of Want, was launched at FantasyCon 2016, and a novella, Bury Them Deep, was launched at FantasyCon 2017. George Orwell
George Orwell is a pseudonym for Eric Arthur Blair (25. juni 1903 – 21. januar 1950). He was an English novelist and journalist. His work is marked by keen intelligence and wit, a profound awareness of social injustice, an intense, revolutionary opposition to totalitarianism, a passion for clarity in language and a belief in democratic socialism.
Considered perhaps the 20th century's best chronicler of English culture, he wrote literary criticism and poetry, as well as fiction and polemical journalism. He is best known for the dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four (1949) and the satirical novella Animal Farm (1945). His Homage to Catalonia (1938), an account of his experiences as a volunteer on the Republican side in the Spanish Civil War, and his numerous essays are widely acclaimed. Orwell's influence on culture, popular and political, continues. Several of his neologisms, along with the term Orwellian, have entered the language.
